- THANK YOU FOR TRYING SOFTERWARE PRODUCTS!
-
- Information(e-mail): techware@geocities.com
- Web Page: http://homepage.usr.com/s/softerware
-
- We appreciate you trying our products very much, and hope that you
- like this product as much as we do. This readme text file will
- describe all the latest on MIDWAV Player, how to register, and how
- to use it.
-
- INSTALLING
- ----------
- This product is easy to install. Extract the files in the zip file
- that you recieved, or downloaded, and put into an empty directory like
- C:\Temp. Run the Setup program, and if all goes well, your program
- will be installed. It is highly recommended that you install to the
- suggested installation directory. If you do not, unexpected results
- may occur. PLEASE RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AFTER SETUP, EVEN THOUGH THE
- SETUP DOESN'T DIRECTLY TELL YOU TO. If you don't the system may crash.
-
- TROUBLESHOOTING:
-
- Problem: Installation was a success, but the program won't run.
- Solution: To save space, we cut down on the installation. However,
- because of this, some important items may be left out. Try
- downloading the ZIP of required VB files at our web site, and then
- try again.
- Problem: Installation comes up saying that it can't overwrite a file.
- What should I do?
- Solution: Take a note of the file it mentions. Click on 'Ignore' to
- carry on with the installation. IF THE PROGRAM DOESN'T WORK, e-mail
- us for instructions on how to install that trouble file.
-
- These are the only problems I have witnessed. If you have any others,
- please e-mail me and I will solve them if I can.

- HOW TO USE MIDWAV PLAYER
- ------------------------
- Adding Files to the list:
- -------------------------
- Using this player is a snap. First, you need to create a list of
- songs or sounds to play. To do this, select 'Add...' from the main
- window or the '+' button on the toolbox (described later). A box
- will show up asking for a song file. Select one, and click on 'Open'.
- The file will be added to the list. Repeat this process for all the
- files you want to add.
-
- Removing, Moving and other rhymes:
- ----------------------------------
- Click on an item in the list and you will be able to remove it by
- clicking on the 'Remove...' button (the '-' for the toolbox) and it
- will go away. To change the position in the list, click on one of the
- arrow buttons. The selection will move up or down according to the
- button you pressed.
-
- Saving:
- -------
- Choose 'Save as...' to make a new file or choose 'Save' to save it
- with a previously saved name.
-
- Stoping, playing, pausing, and 'fast forwarding':
- ------------------------------------------------
- During the time of adding to the list, only the second of these
- buttons will be available: 'Play'. To start playing a list, choose
- this button (the button is a picture of a speaker and a > if you have
- the toolbox up). To stop, click the button with the stop sign on it.
- To pause, click the pause button (looks like two straight lines).
- Choose the pause button a second time to continue playing. Finally,
- choose the button to move onto the next selection.
-
- Random, loop, and normal:
- -------------------------
- The play type selections are in the lower left corner and affect how
- your music is played. Random will choose random files from the list,
- and play until you click stop. Loop will loop over and over until you
- click stop. Normal will play the list once and stop automatically.
- Choose one by clicking on it's option circle next to it.
-
- ADVANCED OPTIONS and COMPATIBILITY OPTIONS:
- -------------------------------------------
- To get a floating toolbox of buttons to make the screen less
- cluttered, click and drag the center row of buttons over the list
- where your files are displayed. A pop-up window will appear at your
- mouse point. This window will always be on top of the main window,
- but not any other windows. Maybe in future versions this will happen.
- To get rid of it, and return to the normal buttons, click the close
- button.
- If you don't want the progress bar to tell you when a song is almost
- done, uncheck the progress bar item in the Options menu. Click it
- again to get it back.
- If you have an older version of MIDWAV, the 'Make long filename'
- option will open an open dialog window to allow you to find the
- file again so it can re-build the list. Make sure you select a file
- from the list before selecting this option.
-
- AGREEMENT & TECHNICAL SUPPORT:
- ------------------------------
- Technical support is very limited for shareware, because it is hard
- to tell if the product version you have could be an altered version
- (which is illegal). However, if the program won't start on your
- computer, send e-mail to 'softerware@bigfoot.com' explaining EXACTLY
- what happens, and I will try my best to solve your problem.
- By using this product, you agree to use it solely for your own use,
- and only for 30 days as a shareware product. If you don't use it after
- 30 days, or haven't registered it, you HAVE to delete it from your
- system. It is illegal not to do this. You also agree not to change
- any part of this program, or distribute the shareware form in an
- incomplete form. Finally, you agree not to disabide any copyrights
- or trademarks. Use of logos or slogans on other media without the
- prior consent of SofterWare is illegal. If you don't abide by this
- agreement, uninstall the program immediately.
-
- REGISTERING:
- If you like this program, and plan to use it beyond the 30 day free
- trial period, you need to register this program. The cost is $15 at
- time of this readme file. Send a check or money order payable to
- Andrew Perrin to:

-
- If you would like to check the price first, send a request to the
- e-mail address at the top of this file. Include your e-mail or home
- address with your payment, then we will send you a disk by mail, or
- an attachment file by e-mail, to add to your MIDWAV directory. This
- will stop MIDWAV nagging you to register.
-
- THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN, AND ENJOY!
