  6. We appreciate you trying our products very much, and hope that you
  7. like this product as much as we do.  This readme text file will 
  8. describe all the latest on MIDWAV Player, how to register, and how
  9. to use it.

  11. INSTALLING
  12. ----------
  13.   This product is easy to install.  Extract the files in the zip file
  14. that you recieved, or downloaded, and put into an empty directory like
  15. C:\Temp.  Run the Setup program, and if all goes well, your program
  16. will be installed.  It is highly recommended that you install to the
  17. suggested installation directory.  If you do not, unexpected results
  18. may occur.  PLEASE RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AFTER SETUP, EVEN THOUGH THE
  19. SETUP DOESN'T DIRECTLY TELL YOU TO.  If you don't the system may crash.
  20.  
  21. TROUBLESHOOTING:
  22.  
  23. Problem: Installation was a success, but the program won't run.
  24. Solution: To save space, we cut down on the installation.  However,
  25.    because of this, some important items may be left out.  Try 
  26.    downloading the ZIP of required VB files at our web site, and then
  27.    try again.
  28. Problem: Installation comes up saying that it can't overwrite a file.
  29.          What should I do?
  30. Solution: Take a note of the file it mentions.  Click on 'Ignore' to
  31.    carry on with the installation.  IF THE PROGRAM DOESN'T WORK, e-mail
  32.    us for instructions on how to install that trouble file.

  34. These are the only problems I have witnessed.  If you have any others,
  35. please e-mail me and I will solve them if I can.

  37. HOW TO USE MIDWAV PLAYER
  38. ------------------------
  39. Adding Files to the list:
  40. -------------------------
  41.   Using this player is a snap.  First, you need to create a list of
  42. songs or sounds to play.  To do this, select 'Add...' from the main
  43. window or the '+' button on the toolbox (described later).  A box
  44. will show up asking for a song file.  Select one, and click on 'Open'.
  45. The file will be added to the list.  Repeat this process for all the
  46. files you want to add.
  47.  
  48. Removing, Moving and other rhymes:
  49. ----------------------------------
  50.   Click on an item in the list and you will be able to remove it by 
  51. clicking on the 'Remove...' button (the '-' for the toolbox) and it
  52. will go away.  To change the position in the list, click on one of the
  53. arrow buttons.  The selection will move up or down according to the 
  54. button you pressed.

  56. Saving:
  57. -------
  58.   Choose 'Save as...' to make a new file or choose 'Save' to save it
  59. with a previously saved name.
  60.  
  61. Stoping, playing, pausing, and 'fast forwarding':
  62. ------------------------------------------------
  63.   During the time of adding to the list, only the second of these 
  64. buttons will be available: 'Play'.  To start playing a list, choose
  65. this button (the button is a picture of a speaker and a > if you have
  66. the toolbox up).  To stop, click the button with the stop sign on it.  
  67. To pause, click the pause button (looks like two straight lines).
  68. Choose the pause button a second time to continue playing.  Finally,
  69. choose the button to move onto the next selection.
  70.  
  71. Random, loop, and normal:
  72. -------------------------
  73.   The play type selections are in the lower left corner and affect how
  74. your music is played.  Random will choose random files from the list,
  75. and play until you click stop. Loop will loop over and over until you 
  76. click stop.  Normal will play the list once and stop automatically.
  77. Choose one by clicking on it's option circle next to it.
  78.  
  79. ADVANCED OPTIONS and COMPATIBILITY OPTIONS:
  80. -------------------------------------------
  81.   To get a floating toolbox of buttons to make the screen less 
  82. cluttered, click and drag the center row of buttons over the list
  83. where your files are displayed.  A pop-up window will appear at your
  84. mouse point.  This window will always be on top of the main window,
  85. but not any other windows.  Maybe in future versions this will happen.
  86. To get rid of it, and return to the normal buttons, click the close
  87. button.
  88.   If you don't want the progress bar to tell you when a song is almost
  89. done, uncheck the progress bar item in the Options menu.  Click it 
  90. again to get it back.
  91.   If you have an older version of MIDWAV, the 'Make long filename'
  92. option will open an open dialog window to allow you to find the 
  93. file again so it can re-build the list.  Make sure you select a file
  94. from the list before selecting this option.

  96. AGREEMENT & TECHNICAL SUPPORT:
  97. ------------------------------
  98.   Technical support is very limited for shareware, because it is hard
  99. to tell if the product version you have could be an altered version
  100. (which is illegal).  However, if the program won't start on your 
  101. computer, send e-mail to 'softerware@bigfoot.com' explaining EXACTLY
  102. what happens, and I will try my best to solve your problem.
  103.   By using this product, you agree to use it solely for your own use,
  104. and only for 30 days as a shareware product.  If you don't use it after
  105. 30 days, or haven't registered it, you HAVE to delete it from your
  106. system.  It is illegal not to do this.  You also agree not to change
  107. any part of this program, or distribute the shareware form in an 
  108. incomplete form.  Finally, you agree not to disabide any copyrights
  109. or trademarks.  Use of logos or slogans on other media without the 
  110. prior consent of SofterWare is illegal.  If you don't abide by this
  111. agreement, uninstall the program immediately.

  113. REGISTERING:
  114.   If you like this program, and plan to use it beyond the 30 day free
  115. trial period, you need to register this program.  The cost is $15 at
  116. time of this readme file.  Send a check or money order payable to

  124.   If you would like to check the price first, send a request to the
  125. e-mail address at the top of this file.  Include your e-mail or home 
  126. address with your payment, then we will send you a disk by mail, or 
  127. an attachment file by e-mail, to add to your MIDWAV directory.  This 
  128. will stop MIDWAV nagging you to register.
